About Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Vaibhav Suryavanshi (born March 27, 2011) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bihar in domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). A left-handed opening batsman, Vaibhav is widely regarded as the most exciting young talent in world cricket.

Born in Tajpur, Samastipur district, Bihar, Vaibhav was trained by his father Sanjiv Suryavanshi from the age of four. He made his Ranji Trophy debut at 12 years and 284 days — the youngest Indian first-class debutant since 1986 — scoring 93 against Mumbai.

He was signed by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction for ₹1.1 crore at age 13. In his debut IPL season, he scored 252 runs including a 101* off 38 balls (35-ball century) against Gujarat Titans — the fastest IPL century by an Indian. In IPL 2026, he won the Orange Cap with 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30, hit 72 sixes (most ever in an IPL season), and became the first player to sweep all five IPL individual awards — Orange Cap, MVP, Emerging Player, Most Sixes, and Super Striker — in the same season.

On July 4, 2026, Vaibhav made his India T20I debut against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, at 15 years and 99 days — breaking Sachin Tendulkar's 36-year-old record as the youngest Indian international cricketer. He went on to score a T20I fifty (50 off 19 balls) against Zimbabwe, becoming the youngest T20I fifty-scorer in men's cricket history. In October 2026, he won the Asian Games gold medal with India, becoming the youngest Indian Asian Games gold medallist ever.

Vaibhav's 175 off 80 balls in the ICC U19 World Cup 2026 final against England U19 remains the highest individual score in any ICC World Cup final. He was named Player of the Tournament for his 439 runs at a strike rate of 169.49.
