India U19 vs South Africa U19

The Super Six stage of the U19 World Cup raised the stakes, and South Africa U19 posed a genuine challenge with a competitive total of 168. India needed a big innings from their talisman, and Vaibhav delivered.

He smashed 71 off 38 balls — 4 sixes and 7 fours — in a match-winning knock that broke the back of the chase. His strike rate of 186.84 meant the required rate was never a concern while he was at the crease. He was particularly severe on anything short of a length, pulling and cutting with authority.

The victory by 5 wickets pushed India into the semi-finals, and Vaibhav's tournament tally was now 216 runs at a strike rate of 189.47. He was the tournament's top scorer and its most feared batsman.
