Match Report
After the England series, Vaibhav was retained for India's T20I tour of Zimbabwe. And this is where he exploded on the international stage.
In the 1st T20I at Harare Sports Club, he smashed 50 off just 19 balls — 4 sixes and 4 fours — at a strike rate of 263.16. It was his maiden T20I fifty, and with it, he became the youngest player in the history of men's cricket to score a T20I half-century, at 15 years and 118 days.
India chased down 126 in just 13.2 overs, winning by 7 wickets. The chase was a demolition, and Vaibhav was the wrecking ball. He treated the Zimbabwe bowling attack with the same ruthlessness he showed against international and IPL opposition.
The fifty was reached with a six — because of course it was. Vaibhav doesn't do things quietly. When he reached the milestone, he barely celebrated. At 15, he'd already scored centuries in the IPL, 175 in a World Cup final, and 190 in List A cricket. A T20I fifty was simply the next box to tick.
