The Milestones

What separates Vaibhav's centuries from those of any other young cricketer is the context. These are not centuries in age-group friendlies or low-stakes domestic matches alone — three of them came in the IPL, the most competitive T20 league in the world, against international-caliber bowling.

His first IPL century (101* off 38 balls vs GT) made him the youngest IPL centurion in history. Less than a year later, his 103 off 37 balls vs SRH was the fastest IPL century ever scored by an Indian — he reached 100 off just 35 deliveries.

The 175 in the U19 World Cup final may be the most storied of them all — the highest individual score in any ICC World Cup final in history, scored by a 14-year-old chasing 292 on the biggest stage of age-group cricket. It was an innings that made the cricketing world stop and take notice.

His 190 off 84 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy included the fastest 150 in List A cricket in world history (59 balls), surpassing AB de Villiers's record. The fact that he was 14 years old when he played that innings makes it almost incomprehensible.

At 15, Vaibhav already has 6 centuries across 3 formats. For perspective, Sachin Tendulkar had zero centuries at the same age. Virat Kohli had none. Rohit Sharma had none. The only comparison is with no one — what Vaibhav has done by this age is unprecedented.
